I didn't even know that there were any honeyeaters in the garden let alone a red headed one! It was Ben who spied him the other morning and it took me ages to see actually see it.
"I can't see him Ben!"
"In the grevillea shrub near the red flower."
Eventually my eyes focus and had to laugh because he was so well camouflaged and all the while staring at me. Cheeky little bird.

Like all honeyeaters that I have been watching the last couple of weeks, this little male bird was here there and everywhere over the Blood Orange Grevillea.

But the best part of this little photographic session is that his little lady friend was also busy flitting in the shrub. She was pretty with some yellow on her side wings.

Planting the grevillea in the garden has paid off big time. So many birds visit every day. I never thought that I would become a bird watcher. Life is full of pleasant surprises!
