Me cansé de fingir lo que no era
solo por idolatrar a cualquiera.
Me cansé de vivir la vida de otro
de llevar el peso en mis hombros.
Siempre quise ser el perfecto
para cubrir todos mis defectos.
De autoexigirme implacablemente
de temblores y molestias estomacales.
Pensando siempre en el fracaso
olvidé de quererme a mí mismo.
Por quedar bien con los demás
¿atiquifobia?, mis fobias.
Truncando todos mis sueños
acumulando mil fracasos.
Proyecté una imagen ficticia
era un todo y fue un nada.
Ahora con mi autoestima
acepto lo irracional.
Mis fobias se desvanecen
mi personalidad resplandece.
Preamble
Dear English-speaking virtual friends, I apologise in advance because I am aware that a poem translated from Spanish into English loses its meaning, rhythm and metrical structure. I used the online tool DeepL Pro and gave it a personal touch according to my knowledge of the English language, but I could not construct the corresponding rhymes.
I got tired of pretending what I wasn't
just to idolize anyone.
I got tired of living someone else's life
of carrying the weight on my shoulders.
I always wanted to be the perfect one
To cover up all my flaws.
Of relentlessly demanding myself
Of tremors and stomach upsets.
Always thinking of failure
I forgot to love myself.
To make myself look good to others
tychiphobia?, my phobias.
Truncating all my dreams
accumulating a thousand failures.
I projected a fictitious image
it was everything and it was nothing.
Now with my self-esteem
I accept the irrational.
My phobias fade away
my personality shines.
