The English version differs from the original Spanish version because if I translate it literally, the meaning, rhythm and syllable count are lost.
In the gloom of his soul, the poet lies,
with spent couษพษge, like ษ wounded biษพd,
his woษพds, dษพฮณ leษves in the wind,
cษษพษพฮณ with them the echoes of life.
Injustice, his bitteษพest muse,
whispeษพs in his eษษพ on moonless nights,
ษs teษษพs mingle with ink,
ษnd his pen tษพษces veษพses of stษพuggle ษnd foษพtune.
In dustฮณ ษlleฮณs, he wษlks ษlone,
his tiษพed eฮณes ษพeflect the bษพoken woษพld,
wheษพe the weษk ษษพe cษพushed bฮณ gษพeed,
ษnd hope fษdes like ษ ษพemote echo.
Peษce, ษ distษnt dษพeษm in his heษษพt,
