I for one had received a lot of gifts from family and friends, but there's this significant gift I would talk about.
Hehe, this gift is the first of its kind that I've ever received.
One fateful afternoon, on my way back from school, I was still in high school then, a guy walked up to me and asked to be my friend, he was well-mannered and good-looking, but I had phobias for guys back then. Plus I didn't want to get into trouble with my dad or mom, so I declined.馃構
He was persistent, he kept pleading that he wanted to be a part of my life and that he wouldn't distract me from my studies.
Well, I accepted on conditions.
We became friends, and while being friends with him, I learned how to dance because he was a dancer, not just a dancer but also an artist (he draws so well), I met a lot of famous people then because he would tag me along to concerts while I'm on holiday. It was nice to meet him.
Fast forward to the day I received my gift, he had wanted to tell me how much I meant to him, but he couldn't come to the house, so he made me a beautiful artwork, his name is Namson, and mine Amila.
He got creative with this gift, he added the first three letters of his name, "Nam" and added the last three letters of my name. "ila" on an artwork specially made for me, it was wrapped in a very beautiful wrapping paper, he also added a beautiful letter and a teddy bear.
I'm sorry, I misplaced the letter due to a change of location while growing up, however, I still remember the content.
The funny thing about this gift was how it was presented to me, because he didn't want my mom or dad to see it, for fear I might be punished, he gave it to my bestie back then, she came home that evening, but stylishly hid the gift in a flower beside my room and then she told me to get it myself when my parent would be absent-minded.
I was so curious to find what was inside, however, I got the chance to get my gift.
When I opened this was what I found.

The VIP signifies I am a "Very Important Person" to him.
He knew how much I loved teddy bears, so he got me mine
And the letter of course which says;
"Hi Amila, knowing you is loving you, you've been the most amazing soul I've ever known and I just wanted to remind you that you're special to me, I'll do anything to make you happy because your heart is very rare, thanks for allowing me to get to know you, it's been an amazing journey so far".
No! It wasn't my birthday, it was just someone thoughtful, loving, and creative.
This gift made me realize I am loved and valued, I started to develop a healthy amount of self-esteem, and in turn, I promised to make anyone who made life beautiful for me happy, I do not just receive gifts, I made them my aim to give out gifts too. I realized that being thoughtful doesn't cost much, you don't need to break the bank to make someone in your life happy 馃ぉ馃ぉ, just be genuine with your gifts no matter how little it might be, it could be just a smile, a simple "I love you", or something you know they love, it could be what you made yourself or just a simple flower, just to make them feel valued.
And as for that frame, it seats beautifully on my wall, I always wear a smile whenever I gaze at it, and I am cuddling my teddy bear while writing this for you all to read.
I felt indeed special and appreciated and I'm grateful to have such a darling as a friend.
