Childhood is an important part of our lives, during this stage our imagination allows us to dream of infinite professions, to think about what we will do when we "grow up" and what we will dedicate our lives to.
Since I was a child, drawing has caught my attention and I went through several stages in my childhood when my possible professions were related to this area, although the story ended up being quite different.
La niñez es parte importante de nuestras vidas, durante esta etapa nuestra imaginación nos permite soñar infinidad de profesiones, pensar en el que haremos cuando "seamos grandes" y a qué dedicaremos nuestras vidas.
Desde niña me ha llamado la atención el dibujo y pasé por varias etapas en mi niñez en las que mis posibles profesiones estaban relacionadas a esta área, aunque la historia terminó siendo bastante diferente.

I remember having entire sketchbooks of drawings of all kinds of clothing: dresses, blouses, pants, skirts, shorts. My inspiration was the beauty contests I used to watch on TV and which under no circumstances could I miss: Miss Venezuela, Miss International, Miss World and Miss Universe.
Recuerdo haber tenido cuadernos enteros de dibujos de todo tipo de prendas de ropa: vestidos, blusas, pantalones, faldas, shorts. Mi inspiración eran los concursos de belleza que solía ver en la televisión y los cuales bajo ninguna circunstancia me podía perder: el Miss Venezuela, Miss Internacional, Miss Mundo y el Miss Universo.

In addition, I had the support of my grandmother, who has always sewn clothes, either to repair them or to create small pieces. She doesn't do it very often because she suffers from arthritis and it causes her pain, but it is something she likes and enjoys doing.
She also wanted to teach me how to knit, but that was a bit of a difficult mission, although I learned a little, I forgot about it, and although she told me to study dressmaking someday, I never did.
To be honest, I think what I liked was to draw clothes, design them and dream about it, but the idea of sewing did not please me and I went on to my next dream:
Además, contaba con el apoyo de mi abuelita, quien siempre ha cosido ropa, ya sea para repararlas o creando pequeñas piezas. No lo hace con mucha frecuencia porque sufre de artritis y le genera dolor, pero es algo que le gusta y que disfruta hacer.
Ella también me quiso enseñar a tejer, pero eso fue una misión un poco difícil, aunque aprendí un poco, ya lo olvidé, y aunque ella me decía que estudiara corte y confección algún día, nunca lo hice.
La verdad, para ser franca, creo que a mí lo que me gustaba era dibujar ropa, diseñarla y soñar con ello, pero la idea de coser no me terminó de agradar y pasé a mi siguiente sueño:

Since I still liked drawing, I decided that maybe it would be better to be a graphic designer. I told my mom about it and she gave me more sketchbooks, pencils, colors, rulers, erasers, etc.

I liked very much to watch with my grandmother a program called "Extreme Makeover", it was about people who went to the houses and made a total reconstruction, they adapted it to the family that was going to live there and they decorated it in a very beautiful way.
I used to fantasize about this type of house, having one like this, decorated in a certain way, with special features, pool, patio, and I used to capture this in my drawings, although I was never really interested in being a civil engineer or an architect, interior design if it caught my attention.
Me gustaba mucho ver con mi abuela un programa llamado "Extreme Makeover", trataba sobre personas que iban a las casas y hacían una reconstrucción total, la adaptaban a la familia que allí iba a vivir y la decoraban de una forma muy hermosa.
Solía fantasear con este tipo de casas, tener una así, decorada de cierta forma, con características especiales, piscina, patio, y solía plasmar esto en mis dibujos, aunque realmente nunca me interesó ser ingeniero civil o arquitecto, el diseño de interiores si me llamaba mucho la atención.

In short, I think that what I wanted to be when I was a child was: DESIGNER, although it was not clear that... it could be fashion, graphic or interior design.
And even though I am not a child anymore and I ended up studying a degree in Computer Science, art is still part of my interests, I like drawing, I like make-up and I also like digital marketing a lot.
Little by little those childhood dreams are taking shape, evolving and transforming into reality.
En definitiva creo que lo que yo quería ser de pequeña era: DISEÑADORA, aunque no estaba claro de que... podía ser de modas, gráfico o de interiores.
Y aunque ya no soy una niña y terminé estudiando Licenciatura en Computación, el arte sigue siendo parte de mis intereses, me gusta dibujar, me gusta el maquillaje y me gusta mucho también el marketing digital.
Poco a poco esos sueños de la niñez van tomando forma, evolucionando y transformándose en la realidad.
