Indecision: Inability to have a stand or foothold over a thing. Many at times, people are faced with the prospect of making one decision or the other over a particular situation of thing within a specified time. However, some people will delay in making up their minds to take a stand on the issue, or tarry a while in making a decision, or may not be confident about the decision so made, or they may change their mind afterwords.

Many reasons can be attributed to as the reasons why making decisions become so hard for some of us. One of such reason is the fear of making the wrong decision. Thus, making a wrong decision is one of the reasons why many people delay in taking a stand over a matter when faced with a choice. That fear of making a wrong choice which may prove costly in the long run always play at the back of their mind.

Most people also worry about the fear of failing and/or the consequences of success. Such fears also weigh heavily in the mind of the individual thus preventing the person from making a decision at the right time.

Again, worrying about what others will think of an individual also play a key role preventing the individual from making a decision when faced with a choice to make.

But sometimes, being indecisive is not a bad thing. Consequently, when one hesitates, it gives the individual some ample opportunity to regurgitate over the situation; to make more findings so as to arrive at a desired conclusion. But in all, let us not allow the indecision to linger and keep us static forever. Perfectionism may not be desirable at all times gentlemen!

Where indecision lasts longer than necessary it may lead to loss of job, loss of income, loss of a desired home, or even loss of life in extreme cases.

Therefore: Let us not dwell so long on a matter before we finally make a choice over it. This is however dependent on the circumstances surrounding the delay.

We shall continue next time with how to conquer indecision in my next blog...
