Yesterday I saw a different kind of woman on the street, a woman with blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair, protected by a hat. A woman who exudes strength and character in her every gesture. She wore a beautiful red dress, elegant and understated. It seemed that nothing about this scene was out of the ordinary. Every day there are hundreds of beautiful women wearing red dresses on the street; perhaps under other circumstances, I would have walked right past her, but not today. Today was a rainy day, one of those that dampens your joy on the way home from work and makes you hurry. Everyone on the street was walking quickly, everyone was running, seeking refuge from the increasingly heavy and frequent raindrops, everyone except the woman in the red dress.
There, amidst hurried minds, people running, in the middle of the rain, the woman in the red dress danced, she danced without needing a song but with infinite rhythm, she danced and smiled. I forgot the rain for a moment, I forgot the time, and I stood there gazing at her.
"The poor woman's crazy," a woman said from under her umbrella.
"Perhaps she escaped from the asylum," replied a man in a tie.
I can assure you that the beautiful lady heard every word, and I can assure you that she smiled at me when I said to the serious woman:
"Aren't we all crazy here?"
I would have liked to keep watching her dance, her smile, her graceful movements, but I continued on my way, and the rain intensified. Back home, dry and sheltered by the walls, I felt like something was missing, like I was missing the freedom to dance in the rain.
