11. You make bad predictions that are not just wrong or inaccurate but also prevent you from even starting. History is full of prominent figures who got it so wrong it's embarrassing. Our ability to predict the future accurately is very limited and as Elon Musk said that the best way to predict the future is by building it. That means you will never know with certainty until you try something.
12. You believe in disempowering thoughts. Let's face it -we say many things to ourselves- but it's one thing to be realistic, and it's another to be downright pessimistic. There are two types of limiting beliefs: the ones that want to keep you safe by telling you what you cannot do right now, and the ones that will keep you small by preventing you from ever trying.
The only good limiting beliefs are the realistic ones that point to actual flaws you can correct or improve around. If you think -I don't know how to swim but I can learn- that's not a limiting belief, it's a realistic assessment that prompts you into action(learn how to swim). Believing something that prevents you from ever trying, it's more than a limiting belief, it's self-sabotage.
13. Cultural indoctrination about certain types of behavior is regarded as appropriate in certain contexts. For example. If you are 15 years old, you should play games, not start companies; that is for grownups. If you are 75, you should not run because you're old. Dare to be different because we have plenty of look-alikes.
14. You don't understand it enough. These days people say they have a dream even to things that are just mildly interesting. That's because they never actually sat down to clarify what their life would be like if they would actually achieve it. We tend to keep personal interests very fuzzy and unclear because we are afraid to lose interest if you would look at them up close. If something is interesting, you need to explore it so you understand what it is.
15. You put dreams on a pedestal and feel unworthy of achieving them. This is a problem usually reserved for people with self-confidence issues, and to some extent that applies to everyone. We all have things that we would like to have but don't feel we would actually deserve. That part about this is that people don't realize how special and unique they are but more importantly they don't realize that their dreams are nothing without them. You are what makes your dreams valuable, it's not the other way around.
