After completing my challenge to run every day 365 days no exception in 2021, I remember it was on day #391 in 2022 after running, I was sitting in the sun to dry a little bit, and remember thinking to myself: "hey, but I could stop, right?; I did complete my challenge, why am I still running every day? "
And that's when the first realization hit me. I'm running because I love it, it simply just gives me something;
I'm not doing it because I have to, but because at this point it's one of the best times of the day, and it's literally what sets me up for a great day and I could simply not imagine my day without putting in that effort.
And this got me thinking even deeper; "but hold on a second, how did I get to this point?" because I specifically remember at the beginning it was not easy, it didn't feel natural, and back then the highlight of the day was the morning coffee, not running; not sweating, not doing something hard. How come?
How come that what now feels natural It used to feel weird; how come I transitioned between two polar opposites. And that's when the true realization hit me.
This is why you need to do something that you know it's good for you every day because by showing up every day you build true consistency and that's what makes good habits stick.
True consistency is the fastest way to personal transformation. You just have to find something that you know it's absolutely good for you and then you push yourself to do it every day even if you don't like it, even if it feels weird, even if you hate it at times or it even just feels unnatural.
You do it every day until it becomes natural. If you show up every day to do the hard thing you know it's good for you, you will achieve rapid personal transformation, but the question is this: will you show up?
