Revenge

Hello friends, I hope you are very well.
Today I wanted to do something inspired by one of the movies and book that I like the most, I made a version of "Carrie" a story that is quite interesting and at the same time sad, I really like the movies both the 1976 and the 2013 version, so today I was inspired by the story to make a bloody portrait simulating the prom scene where Carrie completely full of pig's blood, she decides to take revenge against everyone, it was something difficult to make the blood running down the face, because I was trying it look as natural as possible, but it was something quite complicated, it really took a few hours to solve this until I felt comfortable with the result, I hope you like it.

As I did my own version, I made a sketch that is NOT inspired by any of the actresses that gave life to Carrie, I chose a color palette to work with this time using a fairly neutral skin tones, I added lights and shadows to then create a new layer where I would add many more colors that would give life to the face, for the hair I used a light brown base color.

I softened the skin mixing the colors with a diffuse brush, then I made details in the hair to make it look blond and in the upper part with red spots that simulate blood, I began to paint the blood in the face for it I used a quite saturated red creating the lines where I would add a darker red that would give a better aspect to the blood, little by little I began to draw with red these lines until covering almost all the left part of the face, for the background I painted some red lights and I also added red lighting around the silhouette, now I painted a crown and then I began to give details of light to the face, highlighting some parts, finally I applied a color adjustment where I added more darkness and a little more saturation.
