Photo manipulation I | FANTASY PORTRAIT

Hola amigos, hoy les mostrare como cambie este retrato en algo diferente y con muchos tonos fantasía que me encanta, esta fotografía stock la conseguí en https://unsplash.com/ y es parte de una técnica que vi hace algún tiempo en un tutorial jamás pensé que quedaría así, de hecho, al comenzar pensé que quedaría horrible, pero he aprendido en confiar en el proceso sobre todo para esta pieza. Ya hace algunos meses que estoy practicando manipulación de fotos y aunque no soy perfecta créanme que he visto personas muy famosas haciendo cosas peores e incluso las venden fácilmente solo por ser “famosos” pero eso no me detiene a aprender y mejorar un poco cada dia.

Hello friends, today I will show you how to change this portrait into something different and with many fantasy tones that I love, this stock photograph I got at https://unsplash.com/ and it is part of a technique that I saw some time ago in a tutorial I never thought it would look like this, in fact, at the beginning I thought it would look horrible, but I have learned to trust the process especially for this piece.
I have been practicing photo manipulation for a few months now and although I am not perfect believe me I have seen very famous people doing worse things and they even sell them easily just for being “famous” but that does not stop me from learning and improving a little every day.

Sinceramente soy pésima explicando, incluso no se manejar bien los términos de algunas cosas o herramientas que uso, solo experimento y según mi gusto voy avanzando, esta técnica la vi en un tutorial, sin embargo, termine haciendo un poco todo a mi manera un poco menos complicado a el video, quizás hubo un momento que me desespere y al ver que el resultado estaba quedando extraño casi tiro la toalla, en fin… Cosas que pasan, crisis existenciales.

Honestly, I'm terrible at explaining, I don't even know how to handle the terms of some things or tools that I use well, I just experiment and according to my taste I am progressing, I saw this technique in a tutorial, however, I ended up doing a little everything in my own way a little less complicated to the video, perhaps there was a moment that made me despair and when I saw that the result was looking strange, I almost threw in the towel, in short ... Things that happen, existential crises.

Comencé recortando la silueta de esta chica, obviamente no quedo perfecto aplique un fondo oscuro para poder trabajar mejor, elegí tres colores de una tonalidad bastante fuerte para poder hacer que su piel resalte con la mezcla de estos tres tonos, comencé pintando con azul, luego violeta y finalmente el rosa, intente varias veces aplicar el azul en las partes mas oscuras, violeta en tonos medios y rosa en luces, esto fue difícil tuve que hacerlo unas 4 veces hasta que sentí que estaba bien.

I started by cutting out the silhouette of this girl, obviously it was not perfect, apply a dark background to be able to work better, I chose three colors of a fairly strong tonality to be able to make her skin stand out with the mixture of these three tones, I started painting with blue, then violet and finally pink, I tried several times to apply blue in the darkest parts, violet in medium tones and pink in lights, this was difficult I had to do it about 4 times until I felt that it was good.

A medida que iba avanzando intensifique los colores que aplique a la piel, oscurecí un poco la imagen y luego usando diferentes ajustes de modo de fusión en el pincel y en las capas fui agregando más luz y sombras.

As I progressed, I intensified the colors that I applied to the skin, I darkened the image a little and then using different blending mode settings on the brush and on the layers I added more light and shadows.

Básicamente estos ajustes de color fue el 80% del proceso, seguí hasta obtener un resultado bueno… agregue fondo usando otra imagen stock de una galaxia, también agregue luz en sus ojos, uñas y varias partes de su cuerpo, finalice agregando una luna de fondo y una pequeña media luna en su frente y luego de que mi imagen estaba completa, agregue algunos ajustes de exposición, luces, sombras y saturación.

Basically these color adjustments were 80% of the process, I continued until I got a good result ... add background using another stock image of a galaxy, also add light on her eyes, nails and various parts of her body, finish by adding a background moon and a small crescent on her forehead and after my image was complete, I added some exposure, highlights, shadows and saturation adjustments.

A mi punto de vista luce mágico y brillante, incluso cree mi propio pincel que me diese una textura de pequeños puntos de luz que hacen mucho la diferencia, es fantástico poder crear obras con una fotografía, esta manipulación fue la primera de 3 que hice hace unas semanas, uno tras otro y este fue mi favorito ya que me encantan los retratos, los demás son paisajes con otros elementos que casi nunca trabajo pero les mostrare esos en un próximo post.

From my point of view it looks magical and bright, I even created my own brush that gave me a texture of small points of light that make a lot of difference, it is fantastic to be able to create works with a photograph, this manipulation was the first of 3 that I did a few weeks ago, one after another and this was my favorite since I love portraits, the others are landscapes with other elements that I hardly ever work but I will show you those in a future post.
