Today we were without power for most of the day. It just came back on a little while ago. Not only that, but our cell phone signal went out immediately. I was really scared because the last few times those two things happened at the same time, it was always a tragedy. But nothing strange happened. It was just another day when they cut off our power for no reason. It usually happens: When it's very sunny, when it rains (EVEN IF IT'S JUST A DRIZZLE), or when it's very windy. And guess what? None of that happened today, haha.
It's quite frustrating to have to pause your day because the power went out, forcing you to stop doing things you had to do. For example, we had been without water for a week and our reserves were running low. It just arrived yesterday, and today they were going to turn it off early (yes, lately they only leave us water for one day), and I was washing clothes when the power went out.
I see many changes in my country, but at the same time they seem like fake news that will never really have a positive impact on the actual population, who suffer every day from hunger, without electricity, without money, without water. I know that changes don't happen overnight, but I feel that instead of improving, everything is getting worse in many ways.
It's unbelievable how they leave us without electricity or basic services for hours or even days, and don't even think about being a little late with your electricity bill because they'll cut you off immediately, even though you've gone many days without service.
Sometimes I remember my past as if it were a dream, as if it were something that never happened, those days when I didn't have to worry about filling buckets with liters of water to survive a week, when I could drink water anytime and as much as I wanted, when the power only went out in extreme situations, such as during a very strong storm. I am concerned that we have lived so many years getting used to this that it has become our reality and normality, that we forget that this is NOT NORMAL.
