BIENVENIDO A MI RINCÓN
>It’s been a while since I posted. Power issues made things a bit difficult for me, but I’m staying at my sister’s place now and taking advantage of the situation. A few days ago, my husband and I started building a little house for Pandora—though, to be honest, he did almost all the work; I was busy looking after Doggy, who was feeling a bit under the weather. We ran into a few hiccups along the way, but fortunately, it all worked out, and we gained some experience from it. We started building the house on Friday morning. By Saturday afternoon, Perla had already claimed it as her own, hehe; Pandora, on the other hand, was a bit reluctant. Since she lives for food, I started placing her food bowl inside the bed. She gradually got used to it and sleeps there now; she loves sleeping on her bed. All that’s left is to paint it, add a roof, and put on some decorations. It made me so happy to see them feeling comfortable in their space.
>On another note, I took some photos of some *guacharacas* (chachalacas) that were in my mom's backyard. I went to visit her for a while, and there they were; they eat the guavas right off the tree—hehe—and the fruit always ends up with peck marks on it. The birds sing, and it doesn't get too hot in my mom's room; I always fall asleep whenever I visit. I rested a bit while I was there. To be honest, I was sad because the hen I kept at my mother-in-law's house died. Doggy hurt her badly, and she was very frail; it really hit me hard—I was very fond of her. I never imagined he would react that way when he saw the birds. He wrecked the coop; fortunately, the rooster survived, but he’s depressed and isn't crowing. If you know how to lift his spirits, let me know in the comments.
Subí a Caracas bastante temprano; tenía mucho sueño.
>It’s not Doggy’s fault; he’s a dog and has his instincts, though I was scared and it really hurt that the hen is no longer with us—especially for the rooster's sake. Still, the little guy is here with us. I continue to care for him and give him love, even though I can't have him with me just yet. I had a job interview today. I headed up to Caracas quite early; I was really sleepy. I left Perla and Pandora with my mother-in-law. I took the opportunity to go for a walk with my sister; while out, we stumbled upon a shop selling all sorts of vintage items. I really liked it; I found a lovely Italian typewriter for $40. I took some photos of the place, and later we picked up Chinese fried rice for lunch. We ate and then settled in to watch a movie. All of this has been part of my weekend and the start of a new week. See you in the next post; I wish you all wonderful things in your lives.
