Hello, Ecency community!
I’m thrilled to be making my very first original content post here! For my introductory post, I shared my journey from a traditional primary and junior secondary education background into the world of Web 3. Today, I want to share a major personal milestone that makes this transition feel so much more real: I’ve officially secured my initial stake in Hive and taken ownership of my keys!
This photo really captures how I feel right now. It was taken in Lagos, in my cozy study, during a session where I was managing the setup and security of my keys (which, I’ve learned, is task number one!). For someone who spends their days in a traditional classroom focusing on fundamentals and encouraging critical thinking, stepping into the self-sovereign world of Web 3 is an exciting challenge. The shift isn't just technical; it's a massive shift in mindset. It’s moving from an ecosystem where you are just a user, to one where you are an active stakeholder. I am already learning so much about decentralized protocols, community governance, and even the nuances of stabilizing my account, like understanding RC (Resource Credits) charging, which I navigated when I posted previously!
This new commitment, where I officially have my keys, symbolizes the next phase of my professional development. I plan to use this account as a digital journal, documenting how Web 3 principles can intersect with educational content creation.
I am looking forward to engaging and growing with all of you here in the community! For all my seasoned Ecency users and fellow educators in Web 3: What was the biggest hurdle you faced when you first took ownership of your digital assets?
>>Looking forward to connecting with you all!
