This is my Rex carpet rabbit, the white one, he used to be the most active. Every time I put food in the cage, he would always fight for it while running here and there. I never thought this would be one of his last photos. Now he is gone. He has died.
I bought this rabbit at a bird market outside my city, about 40-50 km from my house. Maybe because the trip was too far, and we rode a motorbike under the hot sun, the rabbit got stressed. Because I put all 4 rabbits in a small cardboard box. It could also be that I bought rabbits that were not very healthy, because some of the rabbits I bought turned out to be thin.
This is one of the white one's friends, this gray rabbit is less active, too slow compared to the white one when it comes to fighting for food, He likes carrots the most. Every time I hold a carrot, his ears immediately stand up and he runs straight to the front of the cage, seeing him eat so eagerly now makes me a little relieved. At least there are still 3 left and they are still healthy and energetic.
As for this one, its distinctive feature is a white line on its nose, Isn't it cute? He is the shy type and scared if held by humans, when people walk by he immediately hides. But when it comes to food, he is the greediest, one carrot can be finished in 3 minutes, before the white one always cut in front of him, now he is the first one when I give them food.
This moment was when I gave them yellow watermelon, the three of them immediately gathered and fought over it, before there were 4, now there are only 3. That corner spot usually belonged to the white one, he liked to sit there the most while waiting for his turn to eat, now that corner is empty, it feels so strange to see the cage that used to be busy now become quiet. At first I wanted to have 2 female rabbits and 2 male rabbits, so that in the future they could be paired.
This is a photo of my rabbits today, they are eating together the three of them, near the water bottle, fighting over cabbage, now I promise I will take better care of these 3, feed them vegetables & pellets regularly, clean the cage to avoid germs, and if I have to travel far I will entrust them to my nearest neighbor. I hope that they will grow up quickly, and have offspring, so that I can be enthusiastic again in taking care of them. This is a view of their cage from the outside, I made it as comfortable as possible, there is a food place, there is drinking water, and I clean it every day. I really regret it when I brought them home from the market, bringing 4 rabbits in 1 small cardboard box, on the road in the hot sun, riding a motorbike. Maybe that was what caused the white one to get stressed, a lesson for me in the future, if I buy animals from out of town, I have to bring a bigger cage and take breaks so they don't overheat.
