Hello pet lovers how are you all? I hope you all are fine. I am fine too. Recently I adopted two budgies. So today I thought I would tell you about my budgies. They have been with me for three months and I have fallen in love with them. And when I adopted them they were fully untamed. It means they were very scared of me. But now three months have passed and they have become tamed. I cannot say fully tamed because they are not fully tamed but they have become a little tamed. Now without wasting much time let me introduce you guys to Mango and Sky.
Mango has a very friendly nature. It means he became tamed very quickly. I will say that within a week he started coming onto my hand. And he is also less scared. And he is a male. Mango loves playing with me. he also loves flying. When I open their cage Mango has a lot of fun comes to me flies around and also plays with Sky.
Sky's nature is not friendly. And it took a lot of time for him to become a little tamed but he is not as tamed as Mango. He does not like coming onto my hand but sometimes he does. And he is also a male budgie. Sky's nature is very different from Mango. He is a little aggressive. I think maybe something bad happened to him in the past. That is why he behaves like this. Because when he first came his behavior was very aggressive. But now he has become much better. If I keep treats on my hand for Sky he comes onto my hand and eats those treats and he is not scared. Before he was very scared but now he is slowly getting better.
When I wake up in the morning first I clean Mango and Sky's cage. I fill their bowl with clean water and I feed them. If you want to know about their diet in detail, I will tell you in another post. I give them seeds and also a vegetable mix. Sometimes I also give them fruits. I will tell you about that in another post. So as soon as I gave food to Mango and Sky they came and started eating because they were very hungry.
After feeding them I let Mango and Sky fly in my room for some time. I opened their cage and they fly. Their favorite spot is sitting on my room window or sitting on my curtains. Because the curtains are at a high place, they like sitting up high. I let them stay out until I feel they are tired and bored. Then I put them back into their cage. Because after flying for a long time they go into the cage and rest.
I also bought a play area for them but I think they did not like it very much because they do not play on it much. Sometimes they play on it but not very often.
I trained about fifty percent of Mango and Sky by keeping treats on my thumb. I make my thumb a little wet not too much just a little. Then the seeds stick to my thumb. Then I take it near Mango and Sky. At first they were scared and did not sit on my hand. But slowly they understood that it was not dangerous at all. So now Mango and Sky come to my hand to eat treats. I can also make another post for you about budgie taming tips and tricks.
