I heard a rumour, then saw it on the news.
Of a invisible virus that affected thousands not a few.
This invisible virus seemed so far away.
Yet I still found myself starting to pray.
I went about my normal day.
Thinking this virus was far away.
Soon I began to realise, that the virus had arrived.
No longer was our Economy going to strive.
As the lockdown was imposed.
All non essential shops would be closed.
The distant memory of freedom was taken away.
People wondered what to do everyday.
Now was a time to reflect.
Hold on to the loved ones we neglect.
Gone was the laughter and smiles.
Burying our loved ones we were put through difficult trials.
We live in a time of fear and hope.
Trying to find ways to cope.
Doctors and nurses put their lives at risk.
Helping those who became very sick.
This was a time history was written.
The world was at war with a virus that was hidden.
