Sometimes I sit and think about how quickly life changes. There are people we talk to almost every day, people we joke with, people we complain to, people we don't even realise we have become so used to having around.
And because they are there today, we somehow assume they will still be there tomorrow. That is probably one of the easiest mistakes we make in life.
We get busy, we say, “I will call later.” We postpone the visit. We see a message and think, “I wll reply when I have time.” We keep thinking there will always be another day. But life doesn't always give us another day.
Sometimes people move away. Sometimes friendships slowly become distant. Sometimes circumstances change and two people who were once so close suddenly have completely different lives.
And sometimes, the hardest one of all, someone leaves this world. When that happens, you start remembering the things you never thought you would miss.
It might be their laugh, the way they used to call your name. The silly arguments you had. The random conversations that seemed meaningless at the time. Even the things that used to annoy you can become precious when you realise you will never experience them again.
I think that is the strange thing about memories. We don't usually know because sometimes, we only understand the worth of a moment after it has passed.
So appreciate the laughter while it is still happening. Hold your loved ones a little closer. Forgive when you can. Make time for the people who matter. And never underestimate the value of an ordinary day spent with someone you love.
Thank for checking on my post and have a wonderful day
