Despite the general sentiment that Chaos Legion as an expansion is too large for the current player base, so much so that the community passed a proposal to burn 25k packs per day though March 31, 2023, I'd like to present some numbers that I think tell a different story.

To preface this, I want to point out that many of the team's actions over this past year have been to incentivize players to level up their cards and compete in higher leagues. Bronze is a little too basic, so Silver is where most new players should strive to. To start earning significant rewards though, I believe that most players will try to make their way to Gold in the long run.

With that said, let's look at how many players would be able to have leveled up or maxed cards at each of these leagues. Please note these are approximate numbers.

Common:
Silver - 30k
Gold - 8.2k
Diamond/Champion - 4.5k

Rare:
Silver - 27k
Gold - 11.3k
Diamond/Champion - 5.9k

Epic:
Silver - 18.6k
Gold - 5.8k
Diamond/Champion - 4k

Legendary:
Silver - 20k
Gold - 10k
Diamond/Champion - 5.4k

As you can, with the current daily active user base in the 160-180k range, this wouldn't even come close if everyone just decided to play in Silver. Of course, you can make the argument that not every player needs to have every card, but I think the numbers are still staggeringly low. There are certain cards that are crucial to the meta, and only a handful of people being able to have them does create a sense of scarcity.

That being said, I'm not saying to go ape into cards right now. All I'm saying is I wouldn't be surprised to see the player base continue to eat through the supply over the next year even if we don't get any new players in. I'll continue dollar cost averaging myself!
