My New Purchase: Djinn Apprentice – A Fire Unit I’m to Add
Today I bought another card in Splinterlands. This time I added Djinn Apprentice to my collection. Djinn Apprentice made me very happy because I have been working to improve my Fire team and build a set of cards that can give me choices in many battles. Each time I buy a card I feel that I am taking a step toward a stronger deck and this purchase was no different.
Djinn Apprentice is a Rare Fire Unit with a 5 Mana cost. When I saw Djinn Apprentice and looked at its stats I felt that Djinn Apprentice could become a part of my Fire lineup. I bought one copy for 46.18 DEC as shown in my screenshot. For me buying cards is not about their strength. I also think about how useful Djinn Apprentice could become after leveling it up in the future.
One of the things I like about Djinn Apprentice is its role. At the starting level Djinn Apprentice has 2 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, no Armor and 4 Health. The 2 Magic Attack is especially interesting because magic damage can be very helpful against opponents who rely heavily on armor. Of attacking armor magic attacks can directly target the enemys health. Because of that Djinn Apprentice can provide support when I need magical damage in my Fire lineup.
The 5 Mana cost also makes Djinn Apprentice interesting. It is not a card but it is also not so expensive that I cannot use it in medium- or high-mana battles. This gives me some flexibility when creating my lineup. In battles with mana available I can place Djinn Apprentice alongside Fire monsters and try to create a balanced team with different types of attacks.
Another reason I decided to buy Djinn Apprentice is its leveling potential. According to the stats shown in the screenshot Djinn Apprentice can become much stronger as it moves through levels. At Level 2 Djinn Apprentice requires 5 cards. Increases its Speed to 3. At Level 3 Djinn Apprentice requires 14 cards. Reaches 3 Speed while increasing its Health to 5. At Level 4 Djinn Apprentice reaches 3 Magic Attack. Continues to become more powerful.
The higher levels become more interesting. At Level 5 Djinn Apprentice has 3 Magic Attack, 3 Speed and 5 Health. Then at Level 6 Djinn Apprentice reaches 3 Magic Attack and 3 Speed with 5 Health. Gains an ability. At Level 7 Djinn Apprentice requires 85 cards. Improves further while Level 8 requires 115 cards and reaches 4 Magic Attack, 4 Speed and 5 Health. The estimated power also increases significantly at each level.
Course I am not planning to reach Level 8. That would require a number of copies. Collecting that many cards takes time and resources. My current goal is much simpler: first add Djinn Apprentice to my collection use it in battles understand how it performs and then slowly collect copies when I get opportunities.
I also like the fact that Djinn Apprentice gives me another option when I am creating a Fire team. Sometimes I do not want to use the lineup in every battle. Splinterlands is more enjoyable for me when I can experiment with combinations. A card that may not look extremely powerful at the beginning can become very useful when placed in the team.
For example I would consider using Djinn Apprentice when the ruleset and mana limit allow me to build a lineup around damage. I would also like to combine Djinn Apprentice with cards that can protect my backline or increase the effectiveness of my team. Since Djinn Apprentice has 4 Health at Level 1 I would not want to place it where it can easily be targeted early. I would prefer to protect Djinn Apprentice. Allow it to continue attacking from a position.
Djinn Apprentice has 2 Speed at Level 1 whichs also decent. It is not extremely fast. It gives Djinn Apprentice a chance to attack before some slower enemies. As Djinn Apprentice levels up its Speed improves, which makes it more attractive to me. Higher Speed can become very important in battles because sometimes a single attack before the opponent can make a difference.
I am also interested in the abilities that Djinn Apprentice can gain at levels. The screenshot shows an ability appearing at Level 6 and continuing through levels. This makes me think that Djinn Apprentice has potential than what's visible from its basic Level 1 statistics. Reaching those levels will take time. Having a long‑term upgrade path makes Djinn Apprentice more exciting for me.
Another thing I appreciate about this purchase is that I am slowly building my collection of depending on a small number of cards. Every new purchase gives me choices. Sometimes the battle rules change the mana requirement is different. My usual strategy does not work. Having cards allows me to adjust my lineup of using the same strategy every time.
The purchase itself was also a moment for me. Seeing the confirmation showing 1x Djinn Apprentice and the total cost of 46.18 DEC made me feel that I had added something to my collection.
Winning in Splinterlands depends on things, including the ruleset, mana limit, summoner choice, monster placement, speed, abilities and the opponents strategy. That is why I want to spend some time testing Djinn Apprentice of judging it from its statistics.
After getting battle experience I will have an idea of whether I should prioritize leveling Djinn Apprentice or continue collecting other cards first.
For now I am simply happy with the purchase. Djinn Apprentice is now part of my Fire collection. I am looking forward to seeing what Djinn Apprentice can do on the battlefield. Djinn Apprentice may be at Level 1 today. Djinn Apprentices future potential is what makes this purchase interesting for me.
I believe building a Splinterlands collection is a long‑term journey. I do not expect every card to become powerful overnight. Instead I want to collect cards learn how they work level them up when possible and improve my strategies through battles.
This purchase of Djinn Apprentice is another step in that journey. I am happy to have this Rare Fire card in my collection. I hope that Djinn Apprentice will help me create lineups and achieve more victories, in future battles.
For now my next goal is simple: use Djinn Apprentice gain experience with Djinn Apprentice collect copies when possible and slowly work toward levels. I am excited to see how Djinn Apprentice performs and what kind of role Djinn Apprentice will eventually play in my Fire team.
