What used to be a swampy area, was converted at the end of the 18th century into the Plaza de Marte. Since then, this site has undergone many modifications, until it became the Plaza de la Fraternity Americana, or as it is better known, Parque de la Fraternity.

El 24 de febrero de 1928 se trasplantó el Árbol de la Fraternidad Americana, una ceiba que fue abonada con tierra de cada una de las repúblicas americanas que participaron, en aquella remota fecha, en la VI Conferencia Panamericana.
