Coffee Related Haul
SPLASHING OUT & DRINKING HOT
I went and splashed out some money on coffee related paraphernalia didn't I. I was originally going to buy these things online, probably on Amazon, but I decided to take a walk and visit a local store that sells household stuff like this, to seed what I could find. Surprisingly, most of the stuff was actually cheaper than Amazon prices, even with my free delivery!
The illusion of things being cheaper on Amazon, or online, is hence forever shattered.
Here is the list of things I purchased
- Cold drink mug with lid and straw
- Milk warmer / Turkish coffee maker
- Pair of coffee glass cups
- Hand-held milk frother/whisk
- Coffee (Nespresso compatible espresso pods)
If you can't find these items locally, but want to avail yourself of them, here is an amazon list I created with very similar items, if not the exact same. I get a little commission from the sweatshop operators if you end up making a purchase (UK only 馃槩) via this link, but at no cost to you.
Truth be told, I've been slacking a bit with the content I'm supposed to be putting up on my channel. I've been too busy simply making the drinks and drinking them, than recording them. LOL. The weather has been so good that I've been taking advantage of all the free time I have to just chill. This week, though, I'll put a bit more effort into it. 馃
Hot vs Cold
It makes sense, and it is expected, that during hot summer days one is expected to drink cold drinks. Ice coffee, "coffee over ice" is it's called at my favourite cafe, is what everyone is drinking now. Even the coffee based social media I follow is awash with ice and cold coffee recipes.
Not me. I'm still drinking the hot stuff. In fact, I love to drink a boiling hot coffee on a summer day - even outdoors in the sun. Why? It's a kind of weird one. I'm not sure if it's the same for other people, but a hot drink actually cools me down, or makes me feel cooler in the heat. It's similar to taking a hot shower on a warm day. After the shower, you end up feeling cooler. Maybe it's a relativity thing. You show your body something hotter than the current situation, so it recalibrates itself to now thing it's cool. I don't know how it works, but it works for me.
Which is why during this heatwave we've been having for the past few days, I've been drinking my hot stuff. Even on the seaside visits, it's been a black Americano for me mate.鈽曪笍
