Australian flag.
Hello everyone, today's blog is for all the fellow Aussies out there #teamaustralia or anyone who likes Australia. I created this Australian flag vector illustration a while ago and the artwork file sells well, so I added it to some merchandise products.
There are alot of Australian flag illustrations out there so when I created this artwork I wanted to give it a more relaxed look by blending the Union Jack into the blue flag detail and softened the stars.
I think the best part of our Aussie flag is the Southern cross and although its used on other flags I think it means alot for Australians. It was the first constellation I was taught as a child just before being shown the saucepan (Orion's belt).
The Union Jack on the Australian flag represents the history of Australia and was once a colony of the British.
The large star at the bottom of the flag under the Union Jack has 7 points and is the emblem of Australian Federation. Six points represent the states and the seventh for all the federal territories which together constitute the nation, the Commonwealth of Australia.
I have done a few other countries also so will upload them over time.
