A post about getting a notification that I achieved the dolphin status here after powering up bulk of the funds I stacked up over the course of months. We'll see if it's a boom or bust over the course of weeks. Nothing here is meant as financial advice.
The funds were raised from the post rewards and me dong P2P buying off HBD/Hive from other users. It's been part of my long term reinvesting goals on Hive to use those funds but I did hope that Hive would have gone lower before I converted it.
In case anyone has been snooping at my wallet, some of the funds were sent to Binance as I trade there for kicks and giggles. The bear seasons taught me what I should be doing when preparing for the bull markets. The frequent flaw I have when tradign/investing is having second thoughts during execution despite spending substantial time thinking over the decision then kicking myself for missing out of the boom when I just saw it coming. It also goes both ways when it's a bust but it's the execution part of the plan that gets me.
I spent some time doing webinars teaching some community members about investing stuff especially geared towards Hive and encouraging the powerups. It's hypocritical considering I frequently power down while holding that speech but fuck it, I got my own trading/investing plans in mind when I do it. At some point, everyone will eventually have the drive to cash out their earnings and it's not my place to be discriminating people who may have unfortunate life circumstances that keep them from building some stake on the blockchain.
Looking at the dolphin status notice came as a surprise but quickly faded into indifference. I have some Hive goals but being dolphin and up weren't part of those goals. They happen to be the side result of from the primary intended goal. It's just too abstract to aspire dolphin and up when I just shit post.
Even if I screwed up my timing in staking this Hive, I don't really mind since that stake will be used to support community members of the ecosystem long term. There's more money in trading and Hive doesn't look like it's going to be one of the top tokens during alt coin season (my opinion at the time of this writing) but that's fine because money was never a strong motivation for me to stick around.
As lame as it sounds, if it wasn't for Hive, I wouldn't be meeting the people I have fun with online now. There's no monetary equivalent for that. The only thing I regret is having less time to be on the blockchain as I am preoccupied with stuff in my private life.
If you made it this far reading, thank you for your time.
