The change was very fast and sudden, we only knew that after so much talk of global warming, the news said that in search of balance the planet would enter a stage of cooling, we could say in another Ice Age.
For those of us who were not in the north of the planet or closer to it, the changes were more noticeable, suddenly in a season of the year when it was not cold it was very cold, like when winter approaches, it snowed, blew and so every day was worse, my father refused to believe what they were telling us, even when the weather showed signs that we should evacuate as soon as possible or we would be trapped.
Finally we managed to convince him to leave home, I know it is not easy to leave your home behind, that place for which you worked so hard and for which you fought, where you have lived so many beautiful moments, but life is more valuable than any material thing and memories are carried in the memory. We were advised to travel as light as possible with winter clothes, to consume food and drinks that would help us to keep warm.
At home we are chocolate lovers at Christmas time, but we already had none of this, so I opted for the beloved drink of the family "coffee" I knew that on the road I might not be able to prepare it, fortunately at home there was an absurd amount of thermoses, as my father had a store and once mistakenly ordered the wrong amount and took them home.
At the beginning of the trip I felt a little burdened, I forgot that I had a family, friends and neighbors who would travel with us and between all of us we carried the thermoses and food, we shared everything, it was a moment to support each other and be supportive, so, we shared the coffee accompanying them with hope and optimism, because of the hardness of the trip.
Of all this trip, although it was hard, what I enjoyed most were those nights that although cold, since the frost was felt more, in the places where we sat down to rest we warmed coffee and told horror stories, also jokes and could not miss the improvised lessons of survival that this new walk were not superfluous, from now on the world would change and you have to know the basic and necessary things.
I could not fail to mention that I met the one who is now the love of my life, during the 3rd day of the trip when we arrived at a place where we met several groups coming from different parts of the country, at first I could not stand it, how can someone not like coffee?
But after talking and getting to know each other along the way and seeing me so happy after every cup of coffee he drank, one day he asked me to be his girlfriend, also to try coffee and today 10 years later we are still together and we have a beautiful 4 year old son. The world continues to heal, but if it wasn't for that storm, the trip and my determination for the love of coffee we would not be together today.
Finally, this is my participation in the #STB 42, where coffee was the one that kept the travelers warm and brought a couple together, a hug and thank you very much for reading me.
