Era toda una experiencia visitar tiendas en las que vend铆an estos formatos, ver las car谩tulas y buscar tal vez ese disco antiguo porque hab铆a tiendas que ten铆an discos viejos y all铆 pod铆as buscar ese que ya no hab铆a en la tienda regular.

驴Alguien los recuerda? a mis amigas @brujita18,
@cielitorojo y

Remembering is living. Every time our minds are flooded with memories of something, we can be filled with nostalgia, joy, sadness, and we may sigh. It also happens that someone brings up a topic that reminds us of experiences we have had. For me, vinyl records were part of my life, so sharing my experiences with them is something worth recounting.
Having been born in 1974, I was naturally one of those who grew up using these formats and also one of those who saw the transition between them and the formats that followed. but I certainly have unforgettable stories about vinyl records. For example, when I was a child, I remember seeing a device in my house that they called a pick-up. It was a wooden box on four legs, and when you opened it, there was a record player inside.
Later, we had an audio system that I don't remember if it was Riviera or RCA. It also had a cassette player, but it was my friend for a long time. Then I bought a SONY stereo system that included a turntable for vinyl records, but it had a CD player and a double cassette deck for recording.
I remember that my first records were children's music. For example, in my country there was a famous clown whose stage name was Popy, and my mother bought records of this character for me and my sister, as well as records by Enrique y Ana and the Smurfs.
I also remember that when I got a little older, I had records by the group Menudo, which included Ren茅, Xavier, Jhony, Miguel, and Ricky. I remember one that was a special edition with a double cover, meaning it opened up. It was gold in color. I don't remember well if it had two records, but it did have material inside, I think the lyrics and some photos, and it was called Menudo de Colecci贸n.
When I reached adolescence, if I managed to save up enough money from my snacks, I would buy one that I liked or ask for it as a reward for good grades, passing the school year, or for my birthday.
Now, as for scratched vinyl records, I don't think there was a single one at home that escaped being scratched, or at least mine did, whether it was because of the plastic sleeves they came in, because of use, or who knows, because I think the quality of the records varied over the years. For example, at home we had old records from before I was born that were made of a slightly stronger material than many of the ones I bought later, which felt increasingly flexible.
It was quite an experience to visit stores that sold these formats, look at the covers, and maybe search for that old record because there were stores that had old records and there you could find the ones that were no longer available in regular stores.
Of course, in addition to my records, there were my mother's and grandmother's records at home, and whether I liked them or not, I had to listen to them. For example, I remember listening to Camilo Sexto or Willie Colon. In fact, I love many of Willie Colon's songs because my mother listened to them, and I am grateful that she shared her music with me, because some of these songs are gems to me and are on my playlist.
So, are there still vinyl records at home? No, not a single one. I'm one of those people who likes to have space, especially since I live in an apartment, so if I can get rid of things, I do so without thinking twice.
Having finished talking about vinyl records, which bring back memories of music in this format, I'll sign off by inviting my friends @brujita18,
@cielitorojo, and
@cirangela to participate in The History of Vinyl Records. Does anyone remember them?.
