Hallo zusammen (english see below),

hier ist meine:

Wochenzusammenfassung 09.10. – 15.10.2026

Freitag, 09.10.:

  2. Daniel zu Besuch. Abends kam Daniel zu Besuch.

English version

Weekly Summary: Oct 9 – Oct 15, 2026

Friday, Oct 9:

  1. Start of the Civilization season. In the evening, I played Civilization against Daniel—we played two games in total. I won the first one ;-) , and we saved the second one.

Saturday, Oct 10:

  1. Barbecue with the Greens. At 2:30 PM, I met up with the other members of the Green party and an old friend in Dürwis. We had a barbecue.
  2. In the evening, Annette and I watched a film (based on Terry Pratchett’s Discworld).

Sunday, Oct 11:

  1. Church service and a quiet Sunday. I attended a church service in the morning; in the afternoon, we took it easy and just lounged around. In the evening, we had our usual Sunday dinner with the family—we had pizza.
  2. At the insistence of Arik and Annette, I lit the wood-burning stove in the living room, even though it wasn’t really necessary.

Monday, Oct 12:

  1. Calendar appointment: Dentist at 9:00 AM. Everything is in tip-top shape—they didn’t even need to remove any tartar.

  2. Helping Frieder & Alejandra move. In the afternoon, I went to visit our new pastoral couple, Frieder and Alejandra, who have moved to Eschweiler. We helped carry boxes and cabinets up to the second and third floors.

  3. Chat Topic: Spotted an email from Thomas (forwarded: "🌻Green Tuesday") – I gathered from it that the Aachen branch of the Green Party manages its newsletter distribution via Brevo (formerly Sendinblue).

Tuesday, Oct 13:

  1. Recovery. It took me a little while to recover from helping with the move.
  2. Work: OpenBao, Auto-Unseal Transit, IAM server (MidPoint), hrdb server, HashiCorp Vault.
  3. Completed the VAT return and sent the payment.
  4. E-Mobility Presentation at the Talbahnhof. In the evening, I attended an event from the Eschweiler Green Party’s "Facts and Myths" series—a presentation on e-mobility held at the Talbahnhof in Eschweiler. The speaker was Hagen Schröter-Kolewa. I later wrote a Hive blog post about it.

Wednesday, Oct 14:

  1. Cycling to Aachen. I cycled to Aachen again. During my lunch break, I met up with an old colleague from my Notes/Domino days (in Darmstadt) as well as a colleague from my Codeboosters team (also from Darmstadt)—she was the Scrum Master for the parallel team, "Ghostwriter," back then. She told me how everyone in Darmstadt is doing: the entire teams were disbanded, and the people have been scattered to various other places. In the end, only 3 out of about 20 remain.

Thursday, Oct 15:

  1. Work. I had plenty to do and am currently involved in more or less three projects: the test IAM server, which is being set up; the hrdb server, which is intended to receive data; and a project involving HashiCorp Vault, for which I am tasked with installing a server in a production environment.

  2. Visit from Daniel. Daniel came over for a visit in the evening.
