Sometimes life becomes intimidating, because a large percentage of the events that occur are unpredictable, sometimes I am assaulted by anxiety. The thought of the bad things that could happen robs me of my peace, so I can't afford to overthink things. To focus my mind on positive situations, I seek refuge in nature. It's indescribable the peace I get from watching a sunset, looking closely at my cat or just feeling the texture of a flower, even if it's very common.

The minimalist techniques I use most often is to let myself be enveloped by the beauty that surrounds me and stop to understand the lessons that nature conveys to me. By doing this I give my mind great refreshment, renew it and fill myself with strength to combat anxiety. Particularly, I consider that our brain is like a river through which millions of thoughts flow, however, sometimes it becomes a well of stagnant water and as we all know stagnant waters bring many problems, so it is necessary that we add time after time pure and crystalline water to that river so that it is plentiful and flows without stopping its current.

When my brain becomes a pond of water that does not flow, it produces plagues, bad smell and a cloudy color that prevents me from seeing life with the right perspective. It is a very wearing scenario in which I must act immediately. I confess that there have been times when it has been difficult for me to clean my mind again, so the best thing to do is to do everything possible not to reach that state. However, we cannot be delusional, obviously we will go through these moments because we are not living under the jurisdiction of a utopia, however, what I really want is to minimize the times when I hit rock bottom.

Based on this fact, I take the liberty to enjoy the smallest things without losing the capacity for wonder. Every time I come across a beautiful flower, I enjoy its colors, its texture and its beauty. To capture each characteristic of a flower is to open a window for my brain to welcome a spring of clean water that will keep the river of my mind clean and flowing. I make an effort to take mental pictures and when I go to sleep I have them as wallpaper in my brain that produce calmness.

Friends, let's enjoy nature, let's fill our minds with its colors and its sublime beauty. It is an effective tool to considerably reduce anxiety. If we cultivate the habit of maintaining mental hygiene, we will be better prepared to cope with the difficult situations that come our way, and better yet, we will feel peace in a world where chaos and despair reign.
