I was sitting in my living room watching television, when I heard the typical sound of a zunzún (a hummingbird) in my backyard. Since I already know their habits, I jumped up from my couch, placed my sigma 150-600 on my Nikon D850 and walked very cautiously towards the terrace that precedes the patio. There she was, perched on one of the ropes we have back there, taking advantage of the fact that it had cleared minutes before. I got closer until I was about two meters from her position, adjusted the heavy lens and began to take short bursts. The challenge is not to capture her perched, the challenge is to achieve some level of sharpness as she flutters around the redbells. Enjoy this cuban emerald!
Estaba sentado en la sala de mi casa viendo televisión, cuando sentí el típico sonido de un zunzún (un colibrí) en mi patio trasero. Como ya conozco sus costumbres, salté de mi sofá, coloqué mi sigma 150-600 en mi Nikon D850 y caminé con mucha cautela hacia la terraza que precede al patio. Allí estaba ella, posada en uno de los cordeles que tenemos en el patio, aprovechando que había escampado minutos antes. Me fui acercando hasta estar a unos dos metros de su posición, acomodé el pesado lente y comencé a hacer cortas ráfagas. El reto no es capturarla posada, el reto es lograr algún nivel de nitidez cuando revolotea alrededor de las campanillas rojas. Disfruten de esta cuban emerald!
