Good day to you all. I am Pirate Q. The one and only Pirate that sails a paper ship. Don't worry about the paper ship sinking. Pirate Q never drowns. There is always a way out unless you feel there is no way out again. I believe in God, smart work, my phone, and my sub…

If you like when you see someone getting married on social media, go and fall in love because you like the way the ceremony was organized, or maybe you love how cute the bride and groom are. Love keeps shaking your brain like a fool.

There are times when I check my WhatsApp status and see people repost some other people's life and then caption it that someday I will remake this and bla bla bla. Lol. I just smile and scroll off. All of you can’t intimidate me and push me inside the pit.

If you like to remake it and if you like don’t. I am living my own life.

University days

I do wonder and get amazed to see some of our neighbors and friends who were opportune to gain school admission, when they are always back home, they look so fresh and handsome. I wonder what they are enjoying or maybe most times I feel that school life is always fun as they have been saying and also students are really rich because they get the chance to request money anyhow from families and relatives.

I have always prayed for a time when I will be able to gain admission too. I fell into the pit of a fake life. I never learned my lesson till I got admitted into the higher institutions. I was so happy that I was leaving my parents behind. All of the home chores, stress, and errands here and there will come to a pause. I was so happy without knowing what was ahead of me.

To cut the long story short. I thought I would be fresh, I didn’t know the kind of grace God gave me to have been able to eat freely at home and on my own time.

My days got even longer, when I started attending classes with an empty stomach, and also wrote notes like a computerized machine. I began to wonder how come. Every day I look in the mirror to see if I am the fresh face I see on others when they arrive, but I couldn't even tell.

During the exam period, the worst case happened to me, then I started to see a lot of pimples on my face. Ooh, This isn't what I expected. I wonder how rich the students are when I have skipped several lunches and breakfasts. The story wasn't clear.

Then there comes our vacation. When I got home, I wasn’t recognized for who I was again. Those chubby cheeks of mine already disappeared, my neck even got longer and thinner, and my eye sockets became more obvious even from afar. I almost looked like I had a fleshless skull.

I was reminded of my words before getting admission when I said I wouldn't come home for the whole session. But now I am on the sickbed taking milk and care after just one semester. Then I learned my lesson not to compare my life to others.

Marriage is not for the weak

Every weekend in Nigeria is fixed for a wedding ceremony even down to the next two years. The dates are already picked. But no matter what, I still think twice about it. A friend of mine who got married came to me. We planned everything together. I was about to get jealous, but I still had learned my lesson.

With time his wife and family visited, they had an introduction ceremony and also had a small wedding. I was still myself, even though people almost killed me with questions about when I would get married. I don't even have a girlfriend for God's sake.

My friend started life. I had to reduce my visit unlike before, then a few months into the marriage when we met again. He called me to a corner and told me. “Make money, Make plenty of money before you marry ooo,” I asked why? He just tapped me on my shoulder and smiled away.

Since then even if you help me find a woman and create a setup for both of us, I will still decline until I am ready, if you like upload billions of photo shots of yourself and tag it “ with hubby in Mars” or caption it “the cockroach in my soup” I am not freaked. Upload thousands of invitation cards. Yet I am not. Just let me be.

Enough is enough. I can't have a ceremony, everyone will come, eat all my food, wish me fake congratulations, and then let me face reality alone.
