Greetings!

The reality of life is in itself, meaning that life itself is the reality that can happen to anyone living in it. Maybe that's why some people say that, “life will not give us what we deserve.” and to be candid enough, life has not worked out for us in the way we have imagined it to work out for us, what we now live at is the reality of life in itself.

Having said so much about life and its reality. Permit me to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive student connect community which is all about, “What was life like before reality hits you?”

The kind of life I was living before the reality of life set in was a soft life which was without any problem or difficulty. I could remember myself eating my three square meals without knowing where it was coming from, as if that's not enough, there's still stipends given to me after eating from home by those who gave birth to me which are my parents.

However, with all these kind of a soft life I was enjoying back then, I was not that comfortable with such life as I was always thinking of being under the control of by parents and as for me, I wanted to enjoy the head of my life and maybe that's why I didn't see all that was done for me by those around me as something special.

So, after my graduation from the university, all the allowances stopped and I couldn't go home often as I used to do before as I was posted to a far distance from home for my one year NYSC scheme, so, this stopped me from eating my three square meals from time to time and it's at this period that the reality of life hit me, although I used to call my parents for assistance, but since they now believed that I'm of age, they cut some of those things that they used to do for me and now that I'm now working and planning to get married, they have totally withdrew their support and now that I'm free from their control, I now realised that there's nothing like free. The freedom I so much craved for back then can now be seen as bondage or hardship in the real sense of it.
