Do you know that feeling when no matter how much you try and regardless of the efforts you put in it feels like you don't just fit in, or you're not just good enough and apparently from the obvious it appears that you don't have what it takes. Slowly the self-inflicting aura of low-esteem and the psychological disorientation leads the mind to believe the idea that it's all you can be, that you've reached the supposed fatigue limit where you can no longer push forward or even worse get better.
Research has shown that 85% of human actions and lifestyle is mainly a by-product of a preconceived thought that has been processed by the mind at different speeds pending on the nature of event. Aristotle in one of his books "RHETORIC" said that "every action must be due to one or other of seven causes; chance, nature, compulsion, habit reasoning, anger, appetite. He noted that all actions are due to either emotion or reason and that we seek pleasant things and act to reduce pain or gain happiness". But the question goes on, which of these causes guide our actions and emotions the most, which of these causes diverts us most often from the results you most want and deeply desire. One can undoubtedly agree with Aristotle on this, but the question remains which of these is a primary cause for the negative emotional tag and personal diffidence??
There are many times we plan to embark on set goal or achieve a dream which could vary from a number of personal set objectives. But just like the gigantic mice that runs through the thick net of spider webs and stops to scratch off traces of the webs that are caught up on its skin and unbeknownst to it that making the choice of stopping in the midst of the web gets it more intertwined within the web, similarly there are many times when other people do things that we don’t understand or are annoying to us, unconsciously we let them rub their webs of negativity, demoralizing and discouraging words to get intertwined within our thoughts. Or maybe we let the first sight of difficulty or challenge to deter us from forging further and pushing on. It is in that moment of taking a minute pause to evaluate the voices in our head, the seemingly rising sound of defeat , that's where we get entangled in the feeling of being unqualified or unfit to make forward steps in breaking more grounds.
Personally I must say that one of the major factors to an emotional breakdown or depressing feeling arises from nothing but mostly our fellow humans and not things. because every single person we meet is likened as a spider with webs, some are meant to coat us and aid us to be swift to fly and soar high with the webs they decorate on us, while others are there with their thick webs to halt us from making further steps of progress.
Considering steemit as a case study today, with no iota of doubt it can be agreed upon unanimously that without the determination poised with resilience and fortitude to grow in this platform no matter what it takes, one could easily get weaned and discouraged of ever rising to the top of being a whale or a dolphin. because on the first few successive weeks you could easily run out of steam i.e ideas of what to share to constantly growing community that would be educative, inspiring or even life changing whatever be the case, also the helpless encounter of zero upvotes or creeping upvotes to the stuff shared to your audience.
Very well then, gradually you start questioning yourself if you you can ever rise from this nadir as a minnow to the apogee of being a whale, questions of being fit and qualified to be an active member arises as you can all agree with me to be true.
Fact about it is that these questions only came to life in your mind when "people" failed to live up to your conceived expectations of getting upvotes. like I stressed earlier on that "the feeling arises from nothing but mostly our fellow humans and not things". Imagine if you never set your affections or dreams only on getting the cash from this platform, if you never for once set your all your expectations only on the reward but mainly on passing across the useful information you've got to give to the other person at the other end of the screen, then there would be a feeling of contempt.
There is now a need to be free from the ties and the webs, the tags and the frames we've put ourselves in that has limited us in all ramifications. and to successfully do this you need to accept the very fact that yes, once I was down for a reason, once i was tagged "UNQUALIFIED" but now I think and know that i'm over it. note that I said "I think" because without overcoming that negativity in your head first mentally you can not ride over it physically.
There has to be this rejuvenated mind with the resolution to stop getting lost in the desert of despair with no water and learn to take a drink from the fountain of faith. Faith that says:
“I am good enough.”
“I will find the answer.”
“I can be amazing.”
These are the answers you should seek.
- The Need For Positive Affirmations
A positive affirmation is something good you say about yourself. It can be a good quality you have, something good you believe about yourself, or something good you've done. It also can be about a quality you would like to have or something you would like to believe or do. Here's a brief list of them:
"I am lovable."
"I am doing the best I can."
"I am a compassionate person."
"People care about me."
"I've got what it takes"
"I can be masterful at what I do"
For in the this we force our minds to be unconditionally configured to the be on the lane of success and joy, just as Aristotle would say that chance events affect us all the time and, although some have little effect in changing what we do, a number of others force us to act or otherwise motivate us into action.
'The things that happen by chance are all those whose cause cannot be determined, that have no purpose, and that happen neither always nor usually nor in any fixed way'
But the choice to be "UNBROKEN" despite the odds against you lies within your radar, because the world needs more steadfast, unmovable, dogged and above all happy people who could always become a beacon of hope and source to others who at some point along the line have lost the flame and are out.
