You might probably be doubting the validity or even the reality of the statement on the subject matter and some might be prompted to ask questions of the nature, what could it possibly be or how do I acquire this tool? Is it one that can be physically harnessed or some fictional myth. Well it is natural to have these torrent of questions lurking in ones mind, which as a matter of fact is part of the psychological traits of the human mind which is the crave for knowledge and power above all.
The irony of it all is drawn from the fact that in the history of the world, the most valuable and precious things are forced to exist within unimaginable entities or even worse in places and in things of little or no value at all. They originate most times from mediocre or devalued substances. gold in question is conditioned by nature to exist naturally in between the filthy and dirty surfaces of earth, even worse at times in the midst of rocky and hard surfaces. So unbekownst to a vast majority of people that the most powerful and invaluable tool rests in the bosom of almost every common individual, but it is left for those who are willing to bend the wind in order to discover it.
The world we live in today is in constant search and hunger for power, knowledge and wealth far above other centuries since the history of time. One thing is certain that amongst the total population in the world only a few have been able to wield this unparalleled power.
Our Natural Being
The story is told about about an elderly man who retired after so many years in the British Army. One day a young man who recognised him and knew his long and distinguished military career decided to play a prank on him. As the old soldier walked down the street with his arms filled with lots of packages, the jokester snicked up behind him and shouted "attention!" without hesitation, the military man dropped his arms to his side, and every package went tumbling to the sidewalk. Without any conscious thought the veteran was only doing what comes naturally for a soldier.
Just like the gold that exists in its true form as a crude and unrefined piece of useful and costly material, millions of people live with this in their possession and disposition without ever knowing its worth and potency.
Like the soldier and his traits everyone naturally is endowed with this powerful tool which is nothing more than the gift of the "mind", whether or not we choose to recognise this as mans greatest asset of all time is up to us. whether we choose to refine and refurnish our minds to the desired outcome is also a choice.
Virtually everything we tend to be or not be in life is the function and responsibility of nothing but our mind-set, Once upon a time a psychologist used a certain kilogram of ice to burn the skin of one of his patients who was suffering from an emotional situation that changed his orientation. The doctor only had to convince his patient through various means that he was about to be burnt with a very hot substance after series of hypnosis. Note that this was only possible at the point where the patient had attained a certain configuration of his mind before the incident occurred.
How we develop our minds to process information and reality, determines to a large extent the events that occur to us. We have to wrap up every fibre and fabric of our inner reality, and making the outward will and endurance subject to it.
Our Awesome Responsibility
There is a saying that reads " a man who cannot change his mind cannot change anything ". The one thing most psychologist and philosophers argued on was the one true limitation of God when it comes to his affairs with mankind. The one true edge he thoughtfully graced we humans with is the power of will, this means the power to be in total control of our minds and the decisions we choose to make. Every action, every motive is our sole responsibility to use wisely as an investment.
I usually challenge my friends with this one question that has happened to raise millions of answers on several occasions whenever this topic is discussed, i'd ask it again " If You had the Power to Control One Hundred Minds of different People at Your Disposal, what would you do " seems like a kind of boring an useless question, but when it comes to what we could possibly achieve if we became one hundred people in one person. can we choose to adapt the wisdom of solomon, the strength of sampson, the financial acuity of Bill Gates, the list goes on.
The greatest gift we can possibly learn to harness is the ability to be in total control of our minds, I for once can testify that journey is a lifetime of devotion that requires sacrifices in so many aspects of our entire being.
I was greatly impressed by an article written by professor William James of Harvard University when he discussed on the topic The Second Wind. In this article he pointed out the real causes of quitting and giving up in most of human activities, he also noted that it is observed in several occasions amongst athletes or competitors in any sport, at the very moment when they are really tired or spent they tend to regain some strength along the line due to the jeering and cheering of fans and supporters.
From that statement one can pick up the fact that it is not the loud cheers of the fans or the motivational talks of the supporters that made them press further or advance in the competition. Rather it is the conscious decision to convince the mind mentally that it is capable of continuing and achieving a second wind.
Lifestyle, Influence and Power
When we look around and observe the lifestyle and attitude of people we know the world recognises as successful or wealthy or even powerful. we can definitely at some point fish out some commonly shared traits that exists within each one of them. It had to say that all great men attended the same school in order to learn these ways of greatness, they couldn't have possibly convened in hall to adapt this lifestyle. So how then is it that most of them are loved by many, questions to justify these claims could be; Their beauty? No off course not, not all beautiful people are loved, rich and powerful; Could it be something more hidden, yes definitely.
The pattern of every great person, wealthy person, powerful person or the ones we tag as successful was only determined by the state at which they always had to configure their minds.
Anyone can arguably say that the mind is a contagious phenomenon; when we stay around people with the negative beliefs of failure, impossibility, negativity on a constant rate, we unconsciously imbibe traces of them and we share a fraction of their misfortunes too at the long run. likewise in that fashion if we surround ourselves with the successful, the wise, or even the rich, somehow traces of their good attributes begin to bleed through us unknowingly.
This then calls for a brief outline or pattern of successful and influential minds, so that we can gradually grow and develop ourselves/minds to be who or what we ought to be.
- The need to be mentally prepared that you can achieve the set objective or goal is highly important.
- The need to find content, appreciation and love for oneself at every phase of life is key to self confidence and a great mind.
- Setting the fatigue point to no point at all; This means the point at which we mostly always draw the line that we have done enough, or we have probably given the best we can, NO! There has to be a deliberate effort to push on no matter the situation.
- The need to consciously avoid dream killers; For they tend to poison the mind and halt future progresses.
i.e a brief illustration about a group I joined some time ago to improve my writing, they virtually ignored the good works and focused on the one error I had, and then used that to judge me badly.
hence avoid people who can hardly see good or nice potentials in you.
What is Your SET-POINT
"David Lykken", Professor at the University of Minnesota has developed what he calls a " set point " theory of happiness. He claims that most people tend to return to their previous level of happiness within 6-months to a year after dramatic events like the sorrow of losing a loved one or the thrill of moving into a dream home. He calls that original reference point of happiness their "set point".
As individuals we must learn to cherish every blessed day as a set point, so as to maintain a positive lifestyle amidst difficulties and obstacles that may present itself each day. We have to let the flow of joy extend even far more than 7 or 8-months.
To maintain a powerful mind we have to unconditionally accept a steady state of mind, one that is not easily influenced or controlled by the downplay of circumstances around us.
