A lot of people don't take their time to call their parents while they can because they have their difference because they are busy because they have their own problems to sort out first but the older you become the more you understand that they are loved for you and the more you notice how much they did for you even in awkward and confused ways.
And as you raise your kids you understand how challenging is it to build a loving family in healthy conditions and one thing becomes obvious if you project yourself in the future and imagine yourself at your parents age or at the end of their life and also imagine your young kids at the current age.
You suddenly get stuck with the vision of how you would like to be treated one day a vision of what a family you could have and how far things could be and thus you suddenly understand how you should treat your parents even if you still have the privilege to spend a bit of time with them.
