The beautiful small island with a long beach of Cai Chien (Quang Ninh province of Vietnam).
Bright sunrise in Cai Chien island.
A local person was trying to collect trash.
Away from the crowd of cities, my friends and I chose Cai Chien Island as a place for us to escape from urban life temporarily.
It takes about 8 hours to drive from Hanoi to Hai Ha province and then takes a ferry about 45 minutes to Cai Chien island.
There are many homestays, motels, no big hotels or modern restaurants. We stayed in our tent near the beach, easily walking around and enjoying nature.
We drove our own motorbike, then boarded a ferry to the island to visit Cai Rong beach or Van Dai beach. Ferries there allow transportation of motorbikes and some other vehicles. (Price of ferry ticket: ~ $1 to $14 ) Or you can rent bicycles and motorbikes to explore all hideout with the local.
It was strange for us to walk along that beach with buffaloes.
The beach isn't busy perfectly for spending time with friends.
You can also cook for yourself, make some grilled seafood by the sea, or eat with your host and pay for the meal.
Although the local needs to buy some kinds of food like pork, beef or vegetable on the mainland, they still sell it at a reasonable price. It's amazing that the seafood there is also so fresh and cheap. A meal only costs you around $2 to $5. I will mention more details about some tips and costs for the journey in another post.
