I decided to feature some of Playa Del Carmen's hidden gems which are restaurants that are off the beaten path but offer amazing food and excellent prices. The first place I am featuring is called L'Osteria Di Playa, which offers an awesome thin crust pizza cooked in a brick oven. It also offers a wide variety of seafood and pasta dishes. They run a few daily specials with amazing value. The pizza-beer special is a great price for what you get. I can never finish the pizza and I always have half for leftovers. They also feature a bucket of beer (5 beers ) for 90 pesos, one of the best prices in Playa for a beer bucket. 5th Ave charges about 180-200 pesos for 5 beer. We like to start out at this place if we are going to bar hop on 5th later in the evening. Great value and really friendly servers. We have been going for a while now and the owner always brings us a free shot of Tequila when we ask for the bill. One of my favs for sure. Lots of vegetarian food choices.
