In Italy, a law is proposed that parents who feed their babies and children with a vegan diet will be responsible in front of the law and threaten even imprisonment.
The authorities in the country do not in any way take into account that veganism is a "way of life" protected by the European Court of Human Rights since 1993.
The Minister proposes a four-year sentence for parents who provide their children with an "inadequate" diet leading to illness.
According to her, vegan diets lead to deficiency of zinc, iron and important vitamins for adolescents.
The law aims to ban "dangerous food", which is detrimental to minors.
Those who oppose the law say diets with fat, salt and sugar are much more dangerous to children's health than the vegan diet and that is a targeted attack on all vegans and vegetarians.
There is no formal research now that the vegan diet is dangerous for children.
However, to date there have been four official cases of children taken away by their parents because they are fed a vegan diet.
I wonder how there is nothing wrong with feeding our two-year-olds at McDonald's, and it is criminal to eat fresh vegetables
