In my last post, I visited a shrine with a 400years old cherry tree!
And I visited a temple near the shrine!

This is the scene at the end of March.
Cherry blossoms are blooming around the temple entrance😊

It is the entrance gate↓

There was an image of the map of the whole temple on the official website.
That gate is the place labeled "山門(風神雷神門)" at the bottom of the image↓

There is a large lantern under the gate↓

Those are the statues of the Fu-jin(風神) and the Rai-jin(雷神).
Their names mean "wind god" and "thunder god"↓

I climbed the stairs to get to the temple place

There is a "Nio-zou(仁王像)" at the end of the stairs↓

They protect the temple together↓

Beautiful cherry blossoms in front of the temple↓

It's a 170 year old cherry

The flowers are in full bloom.
I was able to see the cherry blossoms at the perfect time.
Very beautiful😊

And here is the temple.
The name is "Shodenin(聖天院)"

The temple is very large.
It was built in AD 751. An old Korean king built a temple and shrine here

This temple was on the verge of collapse due to a major disaster.
But the monk protected and rebuilt this place

And this place is a tower tomb for the old Koreans↓

There are many cherry blossoms around here, so it seems that there will be an event that lights up the cherry blossoms at night.
but I basically never go out at night so I never see it↓
