Founded in 1899 and named to honor an Italian named Antônio da Silva Prado, who planned the immigration of many Italians to Brazil, during the end of the 19th century.
Born in 1840, Mr. Prado was a prominent lawyer who was honored with the adoption of his name by the new city that was being founded in the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
He died 30 years later, but the city continues to thrive.
It's 184 km from Porto Alegre, the capital, Antônio Prado is a very small city within the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. There's a mountain range surrounding the area and a very unique experience to be lived in the city and its surroundings.
There's around 48 houses inbuilt wood and masonry in the town’s Center.
This kind of architecture has Venetian origins, and is one of the most attractive aspects of the city historical roots.
Small City
With a population of 14,159 people, it's certainly a place where you'd consider going for peacefulness.
Eco-tourism is growing in the area, as more people are starting to increase their interest for alternative destinations.
Antonio Prado is officially the most Italian city in the world OUTSIDE of Italy.

The Brazilian National Historical and Artistical Heritage Institute (IPHAN) landmarked the city.
This shows how much care was put into the city and preserved by the people.
