As we descend from the mountains of Sagada we stopped on the way to see the beauty of the majestic Banaue Rice Terraces.
The Banaue Rice Terraces or in Filipino we call it "Hagdan-hagdang Palayan ng Banaue" are 2,000 years old rice terraces that were carved into the mountains of Ifugao in the Philippines by ancestors of the indigenous people. These rice terraces were built with a minimal supervision of equipment and built largely by hand. They are fed by the nearby rainforest above the terraces.

Welcome to Banaue! Happy kids on the side <3
Not ready for the camera LOL but look at the village near the terraces. Amazing view and fresh air every morning for them.
Natives of Banaue, they are very friendly
all smiles!
panoramic shot
wallets and trinkets!
you can also buy some gifts for your loved ones and friends back home. There many kinds of arts and crafts that is very affordable and cute!
I am glad that I was about to see this view before heading home, a very good way to de-stress and refresh your mind and soul on other stuff. Thankful for a beautiful landscape like this. I hope the people of Mountain Province can continuously protect this wonder. I heard that because of drought some of the parts of the terraces was having an erosion but glad to hear that they are helping each other in re-building the terraces in the Cordilleras.
Thank you all for reading! I will try to post a raw video of the terraces on my next blog post!
