entering Neko harbour, Antarctica

It was a stunning day on the Antarctic Peninsula in January 2018. The vessel I was working on was transiting to an excursion location for more exploring and adventure filled afternoon. I couldn't help myself but to attempt to get a time lapse of the short journey to one of my favourite areas to zodiac cruise in. Neko Harbour

Neko Harbour is gorgeous area down the Andvord Bay and was named after a Norwegian floating whaling factory ship, called Neko. That whale factory ship operated around the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic peninsula in 1911-12 & 1923-24.

The harbour itself is an amazing site of glaciers, ice bergs and countless species of marine mammals and limitless Gentoo penguins.
