Travel #14 | "Hidden Lagoon On Bair Island"

Not Far away from the Kei Islands, there is Bair Island which is no less enchanting. On this island, there is a wonderfully hidden lagoon.

The Bair Island name may still sound foreign in the ears of the traveler. But beauty issues, Bair Island deserves to be aligned with Raja Ampat in West Papua.

I visited Bair Island with the Ministry of Tourism Press Tour entourage. Bair Island itself is in the administrative area of Tual City, Indonesia.

The journey to Bair Island is about 1 hour. Our boat ride starts from Watdek Harbor in Langgur City, the capital of Southeast Maluku. Traveler can also board the boat from Dullah Port in Tual City.

In the local language, Baer has the meaning of 'invisible'. Perhaps because the island is empty and uninhabited. The distance is also quite far from main cities like Langgur and Tual.

"We call it Bair, meaning tidal look," said Budhi Toffi, Head of Marketing Department of Tourism of Southeast Maluku who accompanied our journey"

After 1 hour of crashing the waves, finally we ship up to Bair Island. There is already a dock where this boat is leaning. First set foot, tosca colored sea has welcomed us. It wants to jump right into this beautiful sea.

But wait, it looks at the edge of the wood dock there is still a surprise awaiting us. There is a magnificent lagoon. To the right of his left, there are rock cliffs, similar to those in the Raja Ampat!

This is like a giant swimming pool. The sea surface is calm, almost without waves. But there are parts that the sea stream is getting heavy. Traveler should be careful if it does not want to carry the current.

Traveler can swim up to this lagoon. It can also be snorkeling. Bringing bebek-bebekan for the photo property is also a good idea. It's a pity to have come here if not photos!

How To Get There :

Traveler can rent a boat. The rental price is about $ 600 or Rp 700,000 for one trip. Can be to Bair Island, Adranan, and also Omega. Good luck!
