Greece Road Trip Adventure. Epidavros & Porto Cheli

There has to be a surprise each time we go to Europe. This time it was a trip to Greece.

I didn’t let Gladys know until the last moment. I really like to bring pleasant surprises to people I love. She thought that we’ll be staying in Czech the whole time but I knew that we’ve got enough time to do one more destination in Europe. Greece was an obvious choice since we both craved to go for years.

Good morning Athens!

Also it was super easily accessible for us since Vienna is only 2h highway drive from my hometown in Czech (Olomouc) and from there it’s only 2h direct flight to Athens.

Gladys was super excited about our trip and that was all I wanted since she usually can guess all the surprises beforehand, but this time she really didn’t expect it.

We arrived to Athens late so we stayed for a night. Rental car at the airport was super smooth and I upgraded our car to a nice BMW for few more euros. With recent NLX and DBET moonshot that’s the least I could do 🚀😁❤️

After copious breakfast and few hours in the center of Athens we took of to the south of Penoloppese peninsula- Porto Cheli. It was bit of the nightmare to drive through small streets of Athens but once in a highway we progressed fast.

Athens was full of cops and restaurant solicitors. Cops prolly even more. You also gotta keep your belongings in check there, just saying 🤙

First stop outside of Athens. From here the road was practically empty on this hot Sunday afternoon.

We stopped at old town of Epidavros for a scenic lunch in a port restaurant. Food was so fresh and delicious!

Greek people are super kind. They just often put some small extras on your bill that you didn’t really ask for but other than that they’re the nicest people ever ☺️

We rented a nice place up on the hill from Porto Cheli and this was the moment when I realized that google maps played a trick on us by taking us through an off-road which seemed like the “fastest” way to get to our hotel.

I assure you it was not. We look relaxed on the pictures but there was a moment or two when I thought we’ll be stranded in the middle of nowhere with zero phone coverage 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

When we finally arrived to the hotel we celebrated it by going for sunset to Hinitsa beach, super nice place close to Kosta, from where you can take a 10min boat ride to Spetses island.

Sunset was indeed beautiful same as our dining spot.

beware of the food portions in Greece. They not exactly “small”

After a super quiet night in our hillside lodge, we took off to the famous town of Nafplio, by reputation the nicest town of whole Peloponnese peninsula. But about that in next blog! 🙏❤️

view from our room, absolute silence;)

I know that most people go to Greek islands, but I preferred to do a road trip and discover as much mainland as possible in a short time. There is amazing spots in mainland too!!

Much love to all,

Thank you for reading,

Special love to Greece and their people!
