Short Trip To Genting Highlands Malaysia [Part 1]

What's up guys! I'm finally back from my trip and I have some photos to share with you guys.

This post is only Part 1, so do check out for further updates after this!

For those who don't know, Genting Highlands is a resort at the top of a mountain, which is really popular in Malaysia. Both locals and tourists love to visit because of the cool weather and also because it's the only place in Malaysia with licensed casinos.

Gambling is an addiction. The most amusing part is that most of these gamblers are retirees and are rather old. Some have difficulty placing bets yet they still enjoy gambling. Whutt... :O

These days, you'll see lots of mainland Chinese tourists at Genting. They have a huge purchasing power I guess.

Part 1 of my trip won't be on Genting Highlands, but rather my stops right before Genting.

Gohtong Jaya

I first arrived at Gohtong Jaya, a super small town on the way up to Genting Highlands. The weather's really cool and I go there for a specific reason. Roti Canai!

Ratha's Curry House is my number one stop and I just have to have my Roti Canai with fish head curry and chicken curry.

Whenever someone asks me what's my favorite food, I'll usually say Roti Canai. They are normally made of ghee and flour, amongst other ingredients. It's fattening but it's worth it.

Fish head curry! Love the sourness of the curry as they didn't put santan in it.

My favorite chicken curry. I can taste a lot of milk in that curry, which is probably why I like it a lot.

This is Gohtong Jaya. It's basically a long row of shoplots, with some other touristy sites and apartments. Nothing much to do here TBH. Love the weather that day.

Love to see these trees.

Genting Premium Outlet

Genting Premium Outlet opened like 2 weeks ago and it's basically a shopping paradise for some. There are more than 100 shops there, including well-known brands like Michael Kors, Furla, Kipling, Skechers and so on.

There isn't much to do there other than shopping.

Met this butterfly when I arrived. :)

If you hate shopping in the hot sun, why not shop in super cool weather in the mountains?

I can see Awana Hotel in the background.

Like the Johor Premium Outlet, this place is not fully sheltered like in shopping malls, but the individual shops are. What distinguishes this from Johor's Premium Outlet is the weather of course. The cool weather makes everything better.

Bigger view of Awana.

This is basically a shopping paradise for shopaholics. For a foodie like me, perhaps it's not the best place to be.

Would love some Godiva softserve right now.. Hungryyy..

That's all for now guys! Stay tuned for Part 2 with much more FOOD!

As usual, I appreciate all upvotes and resteems. Thanks for reading.
