I had a base jumping friend visit from Europe with his wolf dog, so we met up at a small little freestander for a sunset base jump before having a couple of pints in the pub. 🍺

NB: We have an agreement with the farmer that we won’t jump this antenna when he is in the field working. We also use specific route to access it so that we don’t disrupt any crops or upset any locals.

I invited some mutual base jumping friends, and it was great as its not often we are all in the same place at the same time making a base jump. We decided to do a 4-way (yeah, er not what you think).

Unfortunately I can't post any photos of access, hope you understand...

Once we climbed the Antenna we did some pin checks, this is something we always do just to ensure we haven't disrupted the pins on the climb up, and its good practice anyway. A second set of eyes is never a bad thing in this sport, you may pick up on something that your buddy has missed, and it could save their life.

There was a 10mph wind from the South, which wasn't noticeable on the ground, but you noticed it around the 2nd ladder from top of the antenna when climbing.

10mph on an Antenna like this shouldn't pose too much of a threat, but, its something to be aware of when choosing an exit and configuring your kit. I won't go in to anymore detail than that as I am not an instructor and I feel if I detail too much about how we set up for the jump, there's that '1 in-a-million' person reading this may take my blog as a guide. The last thing I want is someone with little, or no experience attempting to make a base jump.

I counted us in. 3, 2, 1, see ya!

Great jump, we all landed safely, we left the antenna as we found it.

Off to the pub to blow the froth off a couple! Yyyyyeeeeeeeew!

I AM NOT A BASE JUMPING INSTRUCTOR. IT IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. DO NOT GO AND ATTEMPT TO JUMP FROM AN ANTENNA BECAUSE YOU SAW MY POST.
