We decided to take a fast train to St.Pete from Moscow which is called Sapsan. And we didn't regret. Good service, great train. Just some recommendations. In the train we got Sapsan ads where it was written if you buy RT tickets, you save 20% if I am not mistaken. I needed RT tickets but I didn't know about this offer and I bought them separately. On our way back we also found out that in the cars 1,2 and 10 you get free food, water, tea and coffee. And I am not sure but I think the price didn't differ much.
View from the train
Tea is very expensive in the train
We arrived at about 3 pm and went to the hotel which was in the center. Never take a taxi at the railway station. Taxi-drivers take 2-3 times more there. It was very helpful to use yandex.taxi - special service for taxi and you always have a car at your disposal within 5-10 mins. Prices are very reasonable. We had a mini-hotel in the center. What they do - they buy apartments and make mini - hotels from them, that is why there are a lot of hotels with a toilet on the floor. So, it was quite difficult to find one with private bathroom and for reasonable money. For 3 nights we paid about $170. It was 5 mins from the metro and with the elevator.
First day we visited Kazan Cathedral
It was not allowed to make photos inside but security let me make couple with the phone
It was Trinity holiday that is why it was all green.
On the way to the Winter Palace
Wax Museum
Chocolate shop - museum
Then the square with the Hermitage and the Winter Palace
After we walked to the Spit of Vasilievskiy Island across the bridge
Peter and Paul Fortress
We decided to finish the day with the craft beer pub recommended (My mom didn't understand that pub at all)
For food they have only sandwiches. But tasty sandwiches))
At least my mom enjoyed her fruity beer))
To be continued....
