6$ Michelin star meal - Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle, Singapore

This is one of the cheapest Michelin star meals in the world. Some say - the best noodles in Singapore, I say they are OK, but certainly not the best. However, this is a place worth visiting!

The stall was originally founded in 1930s by Tang Joon Teo. He died in 1995 and today, the stall is run by his son Tang Chay Seng. In 2016, Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle became one of the first two street food locations in the world to be awarded a Michelin star.

They serve it's signature noodles with minced pork (bak chor mee) according to a recipe created by Tang Joon Teo - noodles being tossed through black vinegar, chilli paste and other tasty ingredients. It was a true beauty to watch the chef preparing it - taking care of all the details, adding many sauces, spices and preparing the meal really fast, but lovingly careful.

We ordered two meals, one being dry noodles with minced pork, and other being wet, or soup noodles. Noodles were perfectly cooked. What I didn't like was the taste of pork liver, but my fiancee enjoyed the meal a lot.

Before going there, we were reading the reviews and mentally preparing for waiting 1-2 hours to get a meal. But when we came there, only 10 people were in the queue resulting with less than 30 minutes waiting. It was a workday (Wednesday) around 8pm.
