Story behind every photo. FIRENZE. Part 3

italy-7-firenze-3.jpg

Not a regular touristic shot in Firenze - Statue of Niccolo Machiavelli.

This statue is located near the entrance of the famous Uffizi Gallery. Everyone, who walked in the central part of Firenze, could notice a long queue, which lead to the gallery’s door. So if you want to get inside the Uffizi Gallery you have to stand in this line. Of course during the excursion I didn’t have time for it and now Uffizi stand as a goal for the next visit to Firenze. And yes – that’s much easier and faster to book your ticket to the gallery online ;)

Going back to Machiavelli – it’s funny, but when I was like 12 years old I’ve heard this surname for the first time from … 2Pac’s tracks)) 2Pac even took pseudonym “Makaveli” and his last album was published under this name.

Later I learned, that Niccolo was one of the most famous and (during one period) most powerful among all Florentines. Some years ago I’ve read (okay, began reading) his book about the history of Firenze and for the historical book it is quite easy-reading and even thrilling. Hope, I’ll have time to continue reading in the future.

This is it for photo #7. Next chapter is coming up shortly ;)
