Editorials in Plantation Frederiksdorp

I usually do not celebrate religious holidays. But since this was one of the few weekends that I actually have off, I decided to head out. Location: Plantage Frederiksdorp, Comewijne, Suriname.

Plantage Frederiksdorp was a sugar and cocoa plantation in Suriname, and its name is derived from the owner. The original buildings have not been removed, but merely restored to keep them in a good state. You can't reach it by car. You have to drive to Marienburg, Commewijne and then cross the river before you can say you're there.

Frederiksdorp is a really relaxed place and compared to other hotels and resorts, really cheap. The food is also amazing. As we reached our Kabana, we instantly turned on the air conditioning. The heat was not to be dealt with. We didn't do much on the first day, as there wasn't much time of it left. We had lunch and went to sleep.

The next day we had breakfast and waited for our friends to arrive. We spent the day with them. As this was a weekend that consisted of a lot of sleep, I didn't take much time for photography. We left around 3:00 PM when it started raining. We had to take the boat back, and the rain gave me a great opportunity for some pretty shots.
