Splinter: Earth

Tier 1

  • Flesh Golem is an elite tank, especially in lower mana caps, with high health and the healing ability. It doesn't have the highest attack or speed, but this monster will stay alive for a long time; especially when paired with tank healers such as Wood Nymph.
  • Another tank healer that compliments Flesh Golem nicely is Spirit of the Forest. The combination of high speed/health and flying ability gives the Spirit a True Speed of 8.5, which is ranked 9th overall and makes it difficult for ranged/melee sneak attack monsters to hit it in the back. At level 3 this monster adds the protect ability to enhance lineups even more.
  • Earth Elemental offers a lot of bang for your buck (mana) with decent health and heal ability at only 3 mana. This monster can get up to 3 damage with its ranged attack and helps fill out the backline of lineups with lower mana caps.
  • At level 1, Swamp Thing is a no attack card with weaken ability and 4 health. Upgrade it and it becomes a vital monster in low mana cap battles. The 2 mana monster develops a ranged attack that goes up to 2 damage and health up to 6, while adding the slow ability. It may not seem like much, but this monster impacts battles more than most other 2 mana monsters.
  • The best counter to magic attacks is obviously magic reflect and that spells trouble for magic monsters with low health like Goblin Sorcerer. What sets the Sorcerer apart from other monsters is the fact that it is 1 of only 3 magic monsters with the sneak ability. This means lineups rarely prepare for a magic attack to the back and don't put magic reflect in that position. With high speed and up to 3 damage, this magic monster can really hit ya where it hurts.
  • Kron the Undying is a Legendary card with high magic attack and healing ability. Put this monster at the back of your lineup so that it can activate the last stand ability and gain increased stats when it's the only friendly monsters left alive.

Tier 2

  • Failed Summoner has one of the highest win percentages of any card in the higher leagues (more on that in later posts). The 2 mana card can get up to 10 health with magic reflect, demoralize & strengthen! 10 health! 2 mana! That's craaaazy. Look to play Failed Summoner to add more meat to your lineup, especially when you think magic cards will be played.
  • Brownie is crucial to playing speed lineups with the Earth splinter. This monster has swiftness to go along with its 6 speed and inspire that adds +1 melee to all friendly monsters. When paired with Spirit of the Forest and/or Javelin Thrower, the 2 ranged attack monsters increase their True Speed to 9.5 which is tied for the 7th fastest in the game.

Tier 3

  • Spirit Shaman is a low mana/attack card with some pretty sweet abilities. Level 1 has divine shield which ignores the first attack. At level 3 it adds stun and is 1 of only 2 Earth cards with the ability; making the Spirit extremely valuable in the knockout ruleset. The 3rd ability it adds is redemption that takes 1 health from enemy monsters upon its death.
  • Stonesplitter Orc is honestly one of the most fun cards to play with. The deadly combo of retaliate and enrage can wipe out tanks by itself in a single round. 3 armor 7 health at level 8 makes it a legit tank with high upside.
